Toyota Matrix Free Your Story Contest

We have narrowed down the Toyota Matrix Free Your Story Contest contestants to 7 semi-finalists! 6 of these filmmakers will advance to the final round where they will compete to be the grand prize winner. Now we want you to detemine who moves to the next round. Vote for your favorite filmmaker! VOTING ENDS MONDAY JULY 21, 2008 AT 5PM. Read more about the contest.

FYS - Ryan Fung
Ryan Fung is a graduate of University of California ? Santa Barbara, with a B.A. in Film and Media studies. He has worked on various film projects as an animator, a cinematographer, a producer, and a director.

FYS - Jeffrey Chin
Jeffrey Gee Chin grew up in Marin County and attended Redwood High School where he began his personal film endeavors. With his own motivation, he spearheaded fund-raisers, lead cultural festivals, took on leadership roles becoming socially and politically active within the Asian American communities

FYS - Elizabeth Cabrera - NAITO
Elizabeth Cabrera is an emerging documentary filmmaker, videographer, sound recordist and producer. She lives in San Francisco. The video shown here is a sample of what her final work will be about if she is chosen as a finalist to compete in the FYS contest.

FYS - Keith Garcia and Free Your Story
Keith Garcia was born and raised in Dallas, PA. He hung out alot in the nearby small town of Wilkes-Barre, and once he turned 18 he moved to the other side of the state to the city of Pittsburgh. After living and going to school there for 5 years, he moved back to the eastern side of Pennsylvania.

FYS - Fae Yamaguchi /The Ride
Fae Yamaguchi has a background in sculpture. she combines sculpture with video where she creates puppet creatures and sets for her experimental live-action animated videos. This video is a sample of what her final work will be about if she is chosen as a finalist to compete in the FYS contest.

FYS - Philip Ly
I am a student at Cal State Fullerton majoring in Radio, TV, and Film. Specializing in writing and directing. My works include a 12 mins short film ALL IN A DAY'S WORK which is a cross between CLERKS and THE OFFICE I currently finished a feature screenplay the Chinese Opium War.

FYS- Kelly Li
Kelly Li is a talented, young filmmaker in Los Angeles, CA, hailing from the film program at the University of California, Los Angeles. He recently hosted mtvU's show, MY SHOT WITH... and had the amazing opportunity to interview one of the icons of American Film, Robert Redford.
