1. Producing a film is an enormous creative and technical task; coordinating large groups of people under specific time and budget constraints, kinda like a wedding. If I ever get married, there will be good lighting, great food and everyone will stay a lot longer than they had planned. 2. The first step to defining Asian American cinema is to cut it out. 3. I don't think people should be too concerned with demographics when it comes to placing odds on Asian American films breaking out into the mainstream. Who spoke of demographics to the white kid in Kansas City loading up on gangster rap? Has anyone you known ever actually done the Riverdance? My high school history teacher told us that Asians came from outer space. If that's true, then the ancillary rights to our movies can be huge in other galaxies. |
