I have always been preoccupied by the function of silence as an Asian American. Growing up, silence was a highly regarded idea, but I soon found that in America, it perpetuates a culture of oppression. Amidst this constant tug-of-war with silence, I have come upon filmmaking as a way to reconciliation and self-redemption.
