By Car from the East Bay:

• Cross the Bay Bridge into the city.
• After entering the city, take the Fremont Street exit.
• Turn right on Howard Street to the Embarcadero.
• Go left on Embarcadero to Bay Street.
• Go left on Bay Street to Columbus Street.
• Take a left on Columbus and move directly into the right hand lane.
• Veer right at Tower Records onto Jones Street.
• SFAI is situated one block up Jones Street, on the corner of Chestnut.

By Car from Marin County:

• Cross the Golden Gate Bridge into the city.
• As you exit the bridge, follow signs to Lombard Street.
• Continue on Lombard past Van Ness Avenue to Hyde Street (2-1/2 miles) and turn left.
• Turn right at the next street, which is Chestnut.
• SFAI is 1-1/2 blocks farther down Chestnut, on the left side of the street.

By Car from the Peninsula:

• Enter the city northbound on HWY 101.
• Follow signs to the Golden Gate Bridge, exiting 101 at Van Ness Avenue.
• Follow Van Ness until Union Street. Turn right on Union.
• Turn left at Larkin.
• Go four blocks and then turn right on Chestnut.

By Muni:

The SF Art Institute is located in the heart of the city's North Beach district. The most direct MUNI bus line is the #30 Stockton, which runs along Columbus Avenue and intersects with BART and many major bus lines throughout the city. There is a bus stop at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Chestnut Street. The main entrance is a short 1-1/2 block walk up Chestnut Street. The SF Art Institute is located in a residential neighborhood. Parking is available on all of the streets immediately surrounding the school.

Parking can also be found at various nearby pay lots.
